Welcome to the 2025 Queens Borough Arts Festival Visual Arts Submission Form. The 2025 Visual Arts Exhibition will be on view Wednesday, May 21st through Sunday, June 1st at Queens Museum.
Opening Reception: Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Queens Museum
Deadline: February 7, 2025
ELIGIBILITY
- Accepting visual artwork from Queens students in 3K through 12th grade, Districts 24-30 and 75
- Submit (1) ENTRY OF ARTWORK PER APPLICATION, AND UP TO (2) APPLICATIONS PER ART TEACHER. Artworks do not have to come from the same class or grade level.
- DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN 2 APPLICATIONS PER ART TEACHER. If a teacher submits more than two applications, the first two applications will be considered. Any additional applications will be automatically deleted.
- Artwork should represent the best student-created artwork produced in classrooms this academic year.
- Please refer to the grade-appropriate Blueprint Benchmarks to help you guide decision-making regarding submission choices.
- Incomplete submissions will NOT be considered.
- Please ensure the work you are submitting to the Festival is not duplicate artwork submitted to PS Art. You must submit different works to each exhibition.
- The entry includes student statements, 50 word limit per question. Excerpts from student response will be used in the exhibition catalog. Please prepare your students to answer the following prompts:
Grades 3K-5 Questions
- What did you most enjoy about making this piece of art?
- What do you want people to think about or feel when they look at your artwork?
Grades 6-12 Questions
- How has being an artist made a difference in your life?
- What inspires you as an artist?
- What are you trying to communicate with your artwork?
SELECTION
- A panel of art educators will adjudicate the first round of submissions.
- Due to space limitations, it is not possible to guarantee the representation of every school.
- The committee will do its best to assure even representation among all Queens districts.
- Teachers will be notified by mid-March 2025.
- After selection, teachers will be given further instructions for artwork drop-off.
MEDIA AND SIZE LIMITATIONS
- 2-D artwork must fit standard size frames: 8"x10", 9"x12", 11"x14", 16"x20" or 18"x24"
- 3-D artwork must not exceed 20 lbs
- Film works are accepted! Films cannot exceed 5 minutes and can be uploaded directly to the application.
- Files must be labeled: Student Name_DBN_TeacherLastName.jpg Example: AngBarrios_28Q001_Hastings
